Reaching out
to our Australian friends and the Syrian Community
Through the view of The Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic of building
friendship bridges, in light of mutual and cultural diversity with our
Australian friends; the importance of the relational view of all Syrian
and Australians in that people are what they are by morality of the
society in which they engage have encouraged engagements in culture,
diversity and relationship building amongst the Syrian and Australian
community that are continuously drawn to the focal point of common
ground upon friendship and anticipation towards peaceful causes to both
the Syrian and Australian community in Australia.
The inauguration of the “The Innocent Smile” fundraising dinner charity
events took place under the auspices of spouse of Ambassador H.E. Mr.
Tammam Suliaman, Mrs. Isis Saeed Suliaman on 13 June 2008 in honour of
Australian Syrian children and their families who are living with life
long illnesses. This cause was purposefully carried through, in the hope
of replacing “discontentment” with “contentment” or rather “empowerment”
amongst Syrian-Australian children living with a disability, as well as
their families. The “Fighting Cancer Together” Charity in Canberra, in
conjunction with the ACT Cancer Foundation was also a great cause and
made a difference towards aiding our Australian friends with cancer and
again expanding the moral outreach of Syrian’s to Australian friends and
communities.
As it were, the initiative carried out by the Embassy of The Syrian Arab
Republic ultimately improved welfare and well being to those Australian
and Syrian children inflicted with chronic illnesses and further raised
awareness amongst the Syrian community towards the needs of disabled
children with in Australia by way of enhancing the knowledge of
inspirational outcomes to those charities set in motion.
In recognition of the establishment and great success of the “Innocent
Smile” and “Fighting Cancer Together” charity events by the Embassy of
the Syrian Arab Republic we continue to encourage to the least the
members of the Syrian National student of Australia as well as the
Syrian Community to further carry on this tradition and contribute to
the aid of our Australian and Syrian friends and their families who are
battling life long illnesses and make possible the life changing wishes
for all.
